Firewall against the right

Invitation from the organizer (DGB):

If the CDU/CSU lets the firewall to the AfD collapse, we will build it up again.

Be the firewall and demonstrate with us against cooperation with fascists.

For the individual right to asylum and a humane policy.

We are calling on all democrats to send a clear signal on Sunday against the creation of a majority with a far-right party.

After Friedrich Merz has repeatedly stated in recent months that cooperation with the AfD is out of the question for the CDU/CSU, it has now passed a largely unlawful and inhumane resolution on asylum and migration policy through the Bundestag with the votes of the AfD and FDP.

This is the opposite of the much-vaunted firewall against the right.

The CDU/CSU is making a pact with the AfD for indefinite detention pending deportation, permanent border controls, more rejections at the German border and deportations to Syria and Afghanistan.

We firmly oppose this!

We took part in the demonstration against cooperation with the AfD with several members of the ver.di works group. Together with many other democrats, we sent a clear signal against right-wing majority building in politics.

The large turnout showed that we will not stand idly by when basic democratic values are put at risk. In particular, the planned tightening of asylum and migration policy has met with widespread protest - and rightly so!

We would like to thank the organizers from Seebrücke Kassel, Fridays for Future Kassel, Students for Future Kassel and Kassel gegen Rechts for the strong mobilization.

Solidarity remains our strongest foundation - we will stay tuned!
