The Contact Maintenance and Re-entry Programme supports communication between the university and its employees before, during and after family-related career breaks. It is aimed at all employees from science, technology and administration as well as trainees at the University of Kassel who are planning or taking family-related leave (e.g. pregnancy, maternity leave, parental and nursing leave).
The program is divided into four phases:
Phase I: The time of preparation: The planning meeting
Phase II: The time during the family leave: The contact maintenance phase
Phase III: The end of the family leave: The re-entry interview
Phase IV: The time after the family leave: The return
In addition to the general concept, the program includes interview guidelines for each individual phase.
In the event of a complete reduction in working hours, the program also offers the patronage model as an option. The patronage model ensures that employees on family leave are assigned a contact person from their immediate working environment, who is not their manager, to whom they can pass on information and discuss formal and informal matters and questions.
