Objective

Overcoming gender stereotypes and reducing gender-specific study and career choices

Brief description

Role models of women and men characterise study and career choices to a large extent. This affects both the general decision in favour of an academic career and the choice of subject. In order to overcome these stereotypes, Faculty 16 has developed the Girls Go Informatics programme. Girls Go Informatics is a 4-day workshop especially for girls in year 10 and above. During the workshop, they can find out what computer science is all about. They immerse themselves in the basic ideas of the subject, learn about programming concepts and write their first programmes.
