Women in Research (WiRe) is a DFG-funded scholarship programme at the University of Münster (as part of the ‘Research in Germany’ campaign) for international (i.e. non-German) female researchers from postdoctoral level upwards. The WiRe scholarship recognises the unique requirements of women in research. WiRe takes into account the challenges that female researchers in particular face in balancing work and family life. The aim is to strengthen foreign female researchers in their academic careers through customised support programmes.
The WiRe-Fellowships offer the opportunity to get to know the research and development opportunities as well as the offers for family members at the university and in the city of Münster within a self-selected period of 1 to 6 months. Targeted support, including mentoring and workshops, provide an insight into the future opportunities for top female academics in Münster.
