Move Up: Active during the corona pandemic

The current situation is a major challenge for all of us. The opportunities for exercise and sporting activities are also limited. Of course, this applies not only to adults, but also to children. Club activities are disappearing. Sports lessons cannot take place in their usual form and the time spent sitting down is increasing.

With our project "Get Up . Stand Up . Move Up" in cooperation between the IfSS, task and the TSG Wilhelmshöhe e.V. handball youth development association, we want to create an offer for children of primary school age. The aim is to encourage children to exercise regularly, even during lockdown and the pandemic.

After all, exercise and sport are of course immensely important, even during the pandemic and especially for children. Once a week, the offer takes place digitally and live, led by sports students in cooperation with older young people from TSG Wilhelmshöhe. For the rest of the week, materials are provided - in line with the weekly theme - to encourage exercise.

Science is not neglected either. The project will be accompanied by an input and output survey and examined through interviews, also on a qualitative level.
