To mark the start of your studies at the University of Kassel, we would like to invite you to the Welcome Dinner on Thursday, 07.10.26 at 6 - 9 p.m. in the canteen at Holländischer Platz.

You can look forward to a lovely evening with delicious pasta from the Studierendenwerk (also vegan or vegetarian), live music and a pub quiz with great prizes to be won. Admission costs 6 euros, which should be paid in cash at the entrance. There is only a limited number of places. Prior registration is therefore required.

Dear first-year students,

In addition to the orientation sessions for your degree program—which you should definitely attend—you’ll have access to advising services from several academic departments at the Campus Center during the orientation period. These services are designed to help you with the following topics:

• Individual counseling on general questions about starting your studies:
  • How does eCampus work?
  • Where can I find my courses?
  • What academic regulations apply to my major?
  • How do I register for exams?
• Support with creating a class schedule:
  • Help with choosing the right modules.
  • Tips on optimal time management.
  • Advice on combining required and elective courses.

Location: Holländischer Platz Campus, Campus Center, Moritzstr. 18, in the foyer

Information booth for Department 02 (Humanities and Cultural Studies): Oct. 5–15, 26, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (except Oct. 8, 26, and on Oct. 14, 26, only until 1:00 p.m.)

Information booth for Faculty 05 (Social Sciences): October 12–22, 26, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Faculty 07 (Economics) Information Booth: Oct. 5–22, 2026, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Teacher Education Information Booth (ZBL – Center for Teacher Education): October 13–23, 26, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (On October 12, 26, at 10:00 a.m., an orientation for all teacher education programs will take place at the Campus Center)

Dear first semester students,

the  winter semester 2026/27 is just around the corner – and we are delighted to welcome you to the University of Kassel campus!

To help you settle into your studies and introduce you to the most important points of contact, we cordially invite you to the official welcome event for first-year students.

On Wednesday, 14 October 2026, at 5.00 pm, we will meet at the Campus Centre, Moritzstraße 18, to celebrate the start of your student life together.

At the event, you will be welcomed by the President of the University of Kassel, Prof. Dr Ute Clement, as well as representatives from the City of Kassel, the Student Services Organisation, the General Student Committee (AStA) and other key university departments. You will also receive information on the organisation of your studies, advisory services, student initiatives and much more – everything you need for a successful start.

We look forward to meeting you in person – and to embarking with you on the journey towards an exciting and enriching degree programme.

The Autonomous Parents' Office invites you:

The "Family Welcome Day" is an introductory event for students with child(ren) from all Faculties of the University of Kassel. On this day, we want to explain and introduce you to the various offers on the subject of reconciling family and studies. Among other things, we will discuss counseling services, supportive measures in the area of studies and the family-supporting infrastructure (parent-child rooms, changing facilities, canteen services, etc.). Representatives of the Studierendenwerk Kassel (childcare and social counseling), the Family Welcome Services of the University of Kassel and also the hosts of the Autonomous Parents' Department of the AStA will be on site and introduce themselves. Of course there will be enough time for your questions! Children can of course be brought along. We are currently checking whether childcare can be offered in the immediate vicinity.

Procedure:

• 10:00 a.m. Open arrival and getting to know each other
• 10:30 a.m. Presentation: Studierendenwerk Kassel, Autonomous Parents' Office, Family Welcome Service & questions
• 11:30 a.m. Family-specific campus tour (Holländischer Platz campus)
• 12:30 Optional - Lunch together in the central canteen

At the start of the semester, the library at Holländischer Platz offers a weekly library introduction.
