Teacher training: Fresh from the literacy kitchen: film, screenplay & theater

Films, dramas and screenplays offer a lot of potential for creative, cooperative and differentiated skills tasks using digital tools in addition to traditional skills tasks such as listening comprehension. Let your learners take on the perspective of the characters in creative writing tasks, set critical podcasts about the film to music, write age-appropriate reviews in the form of podcasts or blogs or make appealing explanatory films on the topic. Use portfolios or collaborative scrapbooks to individualize and collect student work. Find out how you can use valuable theoretical principles, such as the hero's journey of the protagonists and the dramaturgical structure of popular feature films, in the classroom for student-oriented, literary-aesthetic analysis. Furthermore, you will be shown methods for training scenic and sound reading and, using concrete theater and film projects from lower to upper school, project ideas for shooting your own short films or performing short plays. The use of a full-length film and the corresponding script will first be demonstrated using the film "Fourmi" and then further teaching scenarios relating to the genres of film and theater will be presented.
