Prof. Dr. Susanne Jurkowski

On April 1, Dr. Susanne Jurkowski took over the professorship for educational science with a focus on emotional and social development. After studying psychology, she worked as a research assistant and post-doc at the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Kassel. From 2018 to 2025, Susanne Jurkowski was Professor of Inclusive Educational Processes with a focus on Emotional and Social Development at the University of Erfurt. Her research focuses on cooperative learning, peer relationships, teacher-student relationships and multi-professional cooperation. For example, she develops and evaluates pedagogical-psychological support measures to strengthen cooperative working and learning processes and the social-emotional learning of pupils. In teaching, she and her colleagues are responsible for the new "Teacher training for special needs and inclusion education" degree programme.
