"The Political Plant" - an interactive guided tour with discussion Tropical Greenhouse Witzenhausen

Do you believe that plants are political? Whether the answer is yes or no, it is worth getting to the bottom of the question. The title "The Political Plant" as a word mark is an example of the fact that ecosystems, wild and cultivated plants are equally subject to political considerations, conflicts and legislation. During the tour, you will learn about examples from the tropics. We will look at where the water for our avocados comes from, what soft drinks have to do with biopiracy and why tree bark can sometimes have military significance. We discuss human rights, fairness, our consumption and politics. And together we will consider what this information means for our future.
