Opening of the Käte Hamburger College: “Worlds of Raw Materials—Cultures in Transition”

How is the transition to a post-fossil-fuel world changing the way we live together? The Käte Hamburger Kolleg examines how raw materials shape our economy, politics, culture, and everyday life, and what societal changes are associated with this transition. To this end, it brings together international scholars from the humanities, cultural studies, and social sciences with artists to share their perspectives. 

The Kolleg began its work on August 1, the project’s launch date, and welcomed its first international cohort of fellows on October 1; they will be introduced during the ceremonial opening by Prof. Dr. Mi You and Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Burchardt.
