Dr. Joel Greenyer has headed the Software Engineering department at the University of Kassel since the winter semester 2025/26. Greenyer received his doctorate from the University of Paderborn in 2011, then spent some time as a post-doc at the Politecnico di Milano and was a junior professor in the Software Engineering department at Leibniz Universität Hannover from 2013 to 2019. He then moved temporarily to work as a software architect at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles division. Most recently, he was Professor of Software Engineering and Department Head at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FHDW) from 2021 to 2025.
