Dr. Ann-Kathrin Hennes took over the professorship for learning with a focus on basic language education on November 1. After studying special education, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Research Methods and in the learning support focus at the University of Cologne. In the winter semester 2024/2025 and in the summer semester 2025, she was a substitute professor at the University of Kassel. Her research focuses on (remedial) diagnostics in the area of text production skills and the process of identifying special educational needs. In Kassel, her work will focus on the connection between language and learning. Ann-Kathrin Hennes is looking forward to working with colleagues to design the new degree programme "Teaching Special Needs Education with a Focus on Inclusion" in Kassel.
