Objective

Analysing and reflecting on gender relations

Brief description

Research thrives on diverse perspectives. In order to promote this multi-perspectivity, it is advisable to raise awareness of research topics and issues that are particularly relevant to gender and diversity. The Interdisciplinary Working Group on Women's and Gender Studies (IAG FG), a cooperation network of female academics at the University of Kassel, sees itself as a forum for interdisciplinary exchange, cooperation in research projects, the development and networking of teaching programmes, cooperation with non-university institutions and the promotion of international cooperation in gender research.
One focus of the work of the IAG FG is the investigation and reflection of gender relations in the past and present. The critical studies also focus on science itself, on the historical dependency of concepts and theories and their preconditions in gender relations. The IAG FG communicates perspectives, methods and results of women's and gender studies through lecture series, publications, symposia etc. in the sciences and to the public.

The IAG FG also manages the Interdisciplinary Study Programme in Women's and Gender Studies.
