E-mail signature and encryption

Digital signatures confirm that an email is genuine and comes from a specific sender. You can use email encryption to send confidential information securely. All you need is a key pair and a corresponding certificate.

As a member of the University of Kassel, you will find detailed instructions on how to apply for the certificate on the ITS website as well as instructions on how to use it in your e-mail program to sign and encrypt e-mails. You also have the option of applying for the required certificate directly there.

Once you have requested, downloaded and installed the certificate on your client, you can start configuring the digital signature in your e-mail program.
