Borrowing instead of buying - Allerleih starts for students at the University of Kassel

From the winter semester onwards, students at the University of Kassel can use the services of Allerleih e.V. free of charge via the culture ticket. This is made possible by a cooperation between AStA and Allerleih e.V., which the Green Office has significantly supported. Allerleih is Kassel's first "library of things" - a non-profit project that promotes the sustainable and communal use of resources. Instead of purchasing rarely used items themselves, users can simply and easily borrow things from Allerleih: from cordless screwdrivers and tents to technology and tools, a large selection of useful everyday items is available.

This is not only easy on the wallet, but also contributes to greater sustainability: Shared use conserves resources and avoids unnecessary consumption. At the same time, students benefit from low-threshold access to equipment for study, leisure or projects - without having to purchase it themselves.

The principle is simple: anyone who needs something registers online, reserves the desired item and collects it at the agreed time from Allerleih in the city library or from the component exchange at the port.
