What does it mean to design the future? Under the motto "Back to the future", the semester exhibition Rundgang invites students, lecturers and the public to reflect on the future of the planning professions. In addition to the idea of progress, future scenarios of coexistence are currently characterized by uncertainty, excessive demands and threats. The central question is therefore what active role planners can play in creating new spaces for action and regaining social relevance.

The opening will take place on Monday, February 9, at 6 p.m. in the new ASL building at Universitätsplatz 9. The exhibition will be open to visitors from Tuesday, February 10, to Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 12 noon to 6 pm. Two public guided tours will take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 2 pm to 3 pm. The meeting point is on the first floor of the new ASL building by the stairs. From Tuesday to Thursday, there will also be three guest lectures with futurologists from 12 noon to 1 pm, as well as a lecture performance on Thursday at 6 pm.

The R:33 tour is organized by academic and student staff from the departments of Urban Management (guest Prof. Lisa Nieße), Sustainable Cities and Communities (guest Prof. Dr. Mary Dellenbaugh-Losse and guest Prof. Robin Höning) and Integrated Transport Planning / Mobility Development (guest Prof. Dr. Florian Krummheuer).

Further information on the program and the projects can be found on the website https://r-ein.de/ and on the Faculty's website www.uni-kassel.de/go/rundgang.
