The labor market demand for civil engineers with a specialization in a Master's degree is high. In addition to the traditional construction industry, engineering firms in urban water and waste management, for example, are specifically looking for Master's graduates for the structural management of infrastructure and technical facilities. This is another reason why 65% of Kassel's bachelor's graduates in civil engineering go on to complete the corresponding master's degree.

1.5 years after graduating, the majority of Master's graduates in civil engineering from the University of Kassel are employed in the (largely private) construction industry (42%) or in engineering offices (18%).

Over 59% of Master's graduates are employed in construction planning/management and technical project management.
