Safety Information for Countries Subject to Travel Advisories or Warnings Issued by the Federal Foreign Office

Please note that stays in a country for which the German Foreign Office has issued a travel warning
are not eligible for funding, or are only eligible to a limited extent. This applies to the
exchange study placement and any potential financial support from the University of Kassel.

As a general rule: You undertake your mobility program of your own volition and at your own risk. The
International Office advises against stays in countries subject to a travel warning.

Travel and safety advisories and warnings from the German Foreign Office can be found here. They are updated regularly:

• Travel advisories: Information on a country’s entry requirements, medical
  advice, and specific criminal or customs regulations.
• Safety Advisories: Risks for travelers and Germans living abroad. These may include the
  recommendation to refrain from traveling or to limit travel. If necessary,
  advises against non-essential or all travel.
• Travel warnings: An urgent appeal from the Federal Foreign Office to refrain from traveling to a country or to a
  region within a country. These warnings are issued only when, based on
  , there is an acute danger to life and limb that necessitates warning against travel to a country or to a specific region
  within a country.
