Objective

Advocacy of members' interests, promotion of professional development, assurance of quality standards and ethics

Brief description

Members of individual disciplines or professional groups organise themselves in professional associations. They can network internally, receive further training and work on subject-specific challenges and also represent their interests externally. In addition to general professional associations, there are also feminist professional associations that specifically advocate for the interests of women* in certain professional fields. These organisations not only promote professional development and compliance with standards and ethical guidelines, but also address the specific challenges that women* face in their professional lives. They offer advice, mentoring programmes, networking opportunities and information on current developments with a particular focus on equity and equal opportunities. Feminist professional organisations thus make an important contribution to increasing the visibility of women*, promoting their career opportunities and increasing professional recognition in various sectors.
