Statement on the earthquake in Turkey (as of 2/2023)

We extend our deepest sympathy to all those affected by the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey on February 6. The death toll has now risen to over 35,000. In Turkey alone, over 24 million people have been affected by the consequences of the earthquake. Our thoughts are also with the many students and employees of the University who have relatives there and we offer our sincere condolences.

It is now important that we all help the people affected and support the work of the aid organizations. Every donation helps to alleviate the suffering of the people on the ground. The University of Kassel supports the appeal for donations by "Aktion Deutschland hilft" and "Bündnis Entwicklung hilft".
