ZISSEL

Zissel means four days of folk festival around the Fulda. Organized for the first time in 1926, the traditional local history and water festival always takes place on the first weekend in August.

From Friday to Monday, visitors to the festival can expect a colorful program on and around the Fulda. Highlights of the festivities include the water festival parade, which invites visitors to the Fulda on Zissel Sunday - preceded by the country festival parade through Kassel city center.

What is Zissel? Zissel is a four day festival on the Fulda river. The first time the festival was celebrated was in 1926 and traditionally begins in the water on the first weekend of August. From Friday to Monday, visitors expect a colorful program on the Fulda river. The best part of the celebration are the water events that are on Sunday, in which everyone is invited (there are also a main festive even in the main part of the city, too).
