Opening of the exhibition "Wunderkammer modern - 50 years of the University of Kassel" at the Stadtmuseum Kassel

The exhibition "Wunderkammer modern. 50 Years - 50 Objects" is being extended and can now be seen at the Stadtmuseum Kassel until April 18, 2022.

How much university is there in the city? Which objects make this tangible? What stories do concrete, wood, glue, compost, metal, plastic, solar panels, water, wool or lemons tell about half a century of research at Kassel University?
The innovative and aesthetic dimension of scientific processes is brought to life on the three levels of the museum tower with an unusual presentation at the Stadtmuseum. Exciting questions posed by researchers are visualized. What role does a worm from Kassel play in Netflix, what do researchers have in mind with the computer game Assasins Creed and how is a patented tie created? What complex knowledge is disseminated illustratively and in what form? Numerous prizewinners contribute to the multifaceted show.
The University of Kassel was founded at a location that can look back on a long tradition of scientific institutions and research networks. Half a century of history has now been added since 1971.
The exhibition is accompanied digitally by reports from contemporary witnesses and students, who also provide insights into the many enigmatic names, acronyms and exciting aspects of research.
Immerse yourself in the stories and hands-on moments in the exhibition, which can be experienced up close or virtually, and find out in which areas the university is leading the way and sustainably shaping the urban landscape. Unterneustadt - what was designed there? Fulda Bridge - how does it hold the tension? What do the people of Kassel have to do with the hot roofs of the university? Learn to look at your familiar city with different eyes.

The exhibition opening is not open to the public. The special exhibition "Wunderkammer modern - 50 years of the University of Kassel" can be seen at the Stadtmuseumfrom October 15 to January 9.
