Further training for teachers: Study orientation - from graduation to follow-up orientation

The sometimes lengthy process of study orientation for young adults takes place under the difficult conditions of adolescence. Orientation is made more difficult by the fact that in the previous educational biography the decision-making options were relatively limited and could in principle be reduced to the question of which school-leaving qualification is possible and should be pursued. After school, the far more complex question arises as to which of the numerous training courses or degree programs might follow. Good orientation skills are required here.
During the event, the predominant orientation of young people towards qualifications and the associated opportunities and risks will be explained and a "follow-up orientation" will be presented as an alternative. Together, we will then set out to discover the secrets of the academic job market and work out which skills are necessary for good study and career orientation and a successful career start. Finally, we will explore the question of how schools can help to promote these skills and make them visible.
