Minister visits construction site of the high-speed cycle path at the university

The Kassel - Vellmar high-speed cycle link is growing and construction of the first section on the Kassel side has now begun on Henschelstrasse and Gottschalkstrasse at the Holländischer Platz campus. The Hessian Minister of Transport, Kaweh Mansoori, saw this for himself today (August 27) at a site visit. He was accompanied by the Mayor of Kassel, Dr. Sven Schoeller, and City Climate Councillor Simone Fedderke.

To improve the cycling infrastructure and as a first significant contribution to the implementation of the mobility transition, three high-speed cycle connections are to be created in the vicinity of the city of Kassel, providing a rapid connection to the district. One of these will lead to Vellmar and past the Holländischer Platz campus. Construction work in the university area will continue until summer 2026.
