FUSION winter semester 2025/26: PRACTICE

The FUSION lecture series starts the first of four planned semesters with the thematic focus "PRACTICE". The focus is on applied, experimental and forward-looking practices in architecture, urban planning and landscape planning.

The winter semester 2025/26 is dedicated to the question of what role practice plays today - in planning, design, research and action - and how it can respond to pressing challenges such as the climate crisis, social inequality and resource scarcity. The focus is not only on new methodological approaches, but also on concrete projects, collective strategies, craft techniques and civic engagement.

Inaugural lectures, keynote speeches and panel discussions

Six thematically curated Wednesday evenings are planned, supplemented by a half-day symposium as part of the tour week, two inaugural lectures by new visiting professors at the Faculty and the farewell lecture by the Chair of Building Physics. The Wednesday evenings will each feature two external guests who will give short keynote speeches and then enter into an open and productive exchange with other panel guests or the audience. The contributions are intended to provide insights into practical and/or research approaches and open up different perspectives on key challenges in planning, design and transformation. The exact content - from the focus to the format of the exchange - will be developed in brief preliminary discussions with the guests. The evenings are moderated in tandem by two of our academic staff members.

The lecture series always takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 pm in the ASL-Neubau (Universitätsplatz 9, 34127 Kassel), room 106 (ground floor). Admission is free of charge.
