Practice Invited by the Department of Exhibition Design
The Transdisciplinary Research Center for Exhibition Studies (TRACES) brings together, across departments, existing research approaches at the Kassel Art Academy and various departments of the University of Kassel on the history and present state of exhibition-making. The research station on Lutherplatz was built in the summer of 2021 by students at the University of Kassel using a DIY approach, based on a design by Bauhaus teacher Ludwig Hilberseimer, and serves as a platform for dialogue between the urban community and the university. Here, students and faculty offer insights into their work through discussions, lectures, workshops, seminars, and exhibitions, and involve the public in their research in the spirit of “citizen science.” More about TRACES
