Lecture Series Against Right-Wing Extremism | Introduction and Opening Remarks

October 19, 2026 Lecture Series Against Right-Wing Extremism: “Young, Dynamic, Right-Wing Extremist? New and Old Far-Right Youth Cultures” | Introduction and Opening Remarks

The Kassel Lecture Series Against Right-Wing Extremism will take place again in the 2026–27 winter semester. In memory of the racist murder of Halit Yozgat, which was committed by the far-right NSU in 2006 not far from the Holländischer Platz campus, annual events with varying themes have been held since 2012, aimed equally at students and the broader community. An interdisciplinary team from the departments of Human Sciences, Humanities and Cultural Studies, and Social Sciences organizes the lecture series in collaboration with scholars and practitioners. In the 2026–27 winter semester, the individual lectures will be held under the theme “Young, Dynamic, Far-Right? New and Old Far-Right Youth Cultures.”
