Lecture Series on Combating Right-Wing Extremism: More Than Rebellion. Youth Cultures Between Everyday Life, Recognition, and Exclusion

October 26, 2026 More Than Rebellion: Youth Cultures Between Everyday Life, Recognition, and Exclusion—An Introduction

The Kassel Lecture Series Against Right-Wing Extremism will take place again during the 2026–27 winter semester. In memory of the racist murder of Halit Yozgat, committed in 2006 by the far-right NSU not far from the Holländischer Platz campus, annual lecture series with varying themes have been held since 2012, aimed equally at students and the broader community. An interdisciplinary team from the departments of Human Sciences, Humanities and Cultural Studies, and Social Sciences organizes the lecture series in collaboration with scholars and practitioners. In the 2026–27 winter semester, the individual lectures will be held under the theme “Young, Dynamic, Far-Right? New and Old Far-Right Youth Cultures.”
