Prof. Dr. Caroline Fischer

Dr. Caroline Fischer took over the professorship for Public Administration and Management on June 1. Before moving to Kassel, she was Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Digital Transformation at the University of Twente. Caroline Fischer studied political science, communication science and public administration in Dresden, Wroclaw and Potsdam, and completed her doctorate at the University of Potsdam with a dissertation on knowledge management in the public sector. 
Caroline Fischer's research focuses on the micro-level dynamics of public administration, with a focus on the motivation, values, attitudes and behavior of administrative staff and citizens. She is particularly interested in topics such as error culture, risk and crisis management, learning in administration, personnel management in the public sector and technological developments in administration. Her work is interdisciplinary and also includes research on digital transformation in the healthcare sector and cross-border cooperation. 
In Kassel, Caroline Fischer is the academic director of the executive Master's degree program in Public Administration.
