Kassel rowing teams compete successfully at the FISU Games 2025

Mixed teams of two women, two men and one helmsman compete in the mixed novice four. Stine Böcher, Carina Kirch, Oliver Kempf and Lennart Warnecke competed for the University of Kassel in the boat coxed by Elke Hafermann. The second boat, coxed by Nele Fuchs, consisted of Nils Krahmer, Joana Mattes, Lena Schöneweiß and Lennard Fröhlich.

Both boats first competed in the preliminary heats. Elke Hafermann's team came fifth in the first heat in a close race with a time of 1:50.30 minutes, qualifying for the B final. The boat with Nele Fuchs came third in the second heat and made it through to the A final with a time of 1:48.59 minutes.

On the final day, Elke Hafermann's team took third place in the B final in 1:59.79 minutes, which meant 9th place overall. Nele Fuchs' boat was beaten by the University of Essen-Duisburg in the A final in a close race for third place and finished fourth with a time of 2:11.52 minutes.

Coach Sven Becker and chairwoman Clara Fahrenbach were in charge of the Kassel teams. They were responsible for fitting the equipment, preparing for the races and looking after the athletes during the competitions.
