As part of the joint project "Transformation Network Region Kassel" (TRegKS), the University of Kassel is publishing the second, expanded edition of its Competence Atlas. The new edition impressively underlines the University's commitment to knowledge and technology transfer: over 80 subject areas from all Faculties of the University are represented in the new atlas. On more than 200 pages, it reflects the thematic diversity, expertise and interdisciplinary strength of the university and makes it easily accessible for regional players.

The Competence Atlas covers topics from the fields of energy and environmental technology, digitalization, materials development, social and economic sciences, education and language, urban planning, art and design as well as sustainability research. It is therefore not only aimed at players from the mobility and automotive industries, but also at companies and institutions from many other sectors.

"Structural change, especially in the automotive industry, poses major challenges for our region - and at the same time opens up new opportunities," says Daniel Opper, Head of UniKasselTransfer. "With the expanded new edition of the Competence Atlas, we want to make the enormous potential of the university visible and further promote cooperation between science, business and society."

Although the focus is on the transformation processes in the mobility and automotive industry in North Hesse, companies and institutions from other sectors also benefit from the thematic diversity found in the Competence Atlas. The forms of collaboration range from joint research and development projects, contract research and consulting services, cooperation on student theses and projects to patent management issues.

"The University of Kassel sees itself as a driving force for knowledge transfer and innovation in North Hesse," emphasizes Opper. "We invite all interested parties to use the Competence Atlas as a starting point for new ideas, partnerships and forward-looking projects. Together, we can develop innovative, sustainable solutions that will benefit the entire region."

Contacting the specialist areas represented in the atlas is simple, direct and free of charge. The digital version of the Competence Atlas is now available on the UniKasselTransfer website.
