UNI:Lokal

The UNI:Lokal is a central and open venue and exhibition space in Kassel's city center.

With this offer in Kassel's pedestrian zone, the University of Kassel aims to strengthen its connection to the city's society. With a varied program of exhibitions and events, citizens are invited to enter into a dialogue about current research topics and to discuss aspects. At UNI:Lokal, prospective students can also find out about the wide range of study programmes on offer at any time. With the SDG+ Lab, the regional sustainability laboratory of UniKasselTransfer has moved into the premises as a player.

New exhibition: Werk - Stoff - Idee | Materials research from the University of Kassel

Discover the future of materials! Our new exhibition presents innovative materials that are the subject of research at the University of Kassel. Plastic, metal, wood, concrete - we invite you to get to know materials from a new perspective.

The exhibits show solutions for a sustainable future: innovative processing and resource-saving recycling make materials fit for the world of tomorrow. Materials are becoming smart - they produce electricity, pass on information, change their shape or adapt to their environment.

Try out these smart functions for yourself - at hands-on stations and in workshops. For all those who want to know more: Researchers will explain more about the topics presented in short talks and during guided tours.

There is also plenty for children and young people to discover, marvel at and experiment with. On a Carrera track, you can control a racing car with smart materials. In the digital detective game, materials will put you on the right track. School classes are also cordially invited to experience the exhibition in a special program consisting of a guided tour and hands-on activities.
