Coffee talk at UNI:Lokal | Of peppernuts and cinnamon stars - the tropics in Christmas cookies
15 minutes with Catherina Merx (Greenhouse for tropical crops, Witzenhausen)
It's hard to imagine Christmas treats without typical spices such as cardamom, cinnamon and vanilla. They all come from the tropics and have a long history. Catherina Merx from the Tropical Greenhouse takes you on a short sensory journey into the world of spices and explains their origins and cultivation.
In the coffee talks , scientists from the University of Kassel explain their research - briefly and compactly in 15 minutes. For all those who want to start the evening with an interesting input on current topics - a sweet snack and a hot drink are provided free of charge.
