Architecture (Master)

Chamber eligibility" is crucial: Only those who are members of a German Chamber of Architects may use the title "architect" and are entitled, for example, to submit building documents. So it's good to know: Anyone who has successfully completed the consecutive master's program in architecture at the University of Kassel (i.e., who has previously successfully completed a bachelor's degree in architecture) is definitely eligible for membership in the chamber and thus eligible for the future.

Not only are graduates free to work in an architectural office, but they also have the necessary basis for a scientific career path or a job in public building administrations. After completing their bachelor's degree, students have spent four semesters deepening their knowledge of architecture by intensively studying the current tools, procedures and techniques of architecture, and have dealt in detail with planning, building theory and urban development. With professional skills and interdisciplinary knowledge, the master's program in architecture enables graduates* to conduct their own scientific research and successfully enter the profession.

Specific to the University of Kassel are the so-called Master's specializations, which impart planning and design competence in complex contexts in certain fields and ensure an individual profile for graduates. In the Master's program in Architecture, students can orient themselves in various directions: "Urban Planning" (together with urban and landscape planners), "Design Research" (building construction, digital development techniques, architectural and artistic concepts), "Environmentally Conscious Planning and Building", and "Construction Industry / Project Development" (currently dormant). A large number of modules complement the differentiated range of courses.

The application procedure for this degree program includes mandatory participation in a pre-selection process. This involves submitting work samples, a CV and a letter of motivation. You can only formally apply after a positive assessment.
