German Studies with binational option (Master)

Those who choose the master's program "German Studies with a Binational Option" will get to know the German language, literature and culture from a completely new perspective. The University of Kassel cooperates here with the Hungarian University of Szeged.

The special feature: Students deal with German studies research in an international environment. The focus is on dealing with cultural studies issues, examining language and literature in a European context, and dovetailing domestic and international German studies.

Students of German Studies thus gain an extraordinary experience abroad that broadens their horizons. Because in the seminars with Hungarian fellow students and professors, questions come up that would possibly not even arise at German universities. The Master of German Studies with binational option offers students the unique opportunity to look beyond their national horizons. They acquire comprehensive interdisciplinary and intercultural skills.

In the course of study, linguistic and literary content and research traditions are juxtaposed and reflected upon in mutual dialogue. One focus in Szeged is Austrian literature and culture. The master's program is designed for four semesters and concludes with a double degree (one certificate from each of the two universities).
