German Studies with binational option (Master)

Those who opt for the Master's degree course in German Studies with a binational option will get to know the German language, literature and culture from a completely new perspective. The University of Kassel works together with the Hungarian University of Szeged.

The special feature: Students deal with German studies research in an international environment. The focus is on dealing with cultural studies issues, examining language and literature in a European context and dovetailing German studies at home and abroad.

In this way, German studies students gain an extraordinary experience abroad that broadens their horizons. This is because questions arise in the seminars with fellow Hungarian students and professors that might not even arise at German universities. The Master's in German Studies with a binational option offers students the unique opportunity to look beyond their national horizons. They acquire comprehensive interdisciplinary and intercultural skills.

During their studies, linguistic and literary content and research traditions are juxtaposed and reflected upon in a mutual dialog. One focus in Szeged is Austrian literature and culture. The Master's program is designed for four semesters and concludes with a double degree (one certificate from each of the two universities).
