Mathematics (Bachelor)

No industrial sector, no innovative technology, no sector of the future can do without it. Even if it is not always immediately apparent in the finished product: everything is somehow mathematics! At the University of Kassel, this key course of study is entered via the six-semester Bachelor's degree course.

At the beginning, there is an introduction to basic mathematical skills, alternating between theory and practical application. This is supplemented by programming and application of mathematical software, as mathematics at the University of Kassel is generally characterized by its computer and application orientation. The intensive support provided by the teaching staff and a wide range of support services make it easier to get started.

Admission requirements are the general higher education entrance qualification, entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or a special professional qualification. There are no admission restrictions and the course starts in the winter semester. An internship of eight weeks must be completed as part of the Bachelor's degree course. This usually takes place outside the university in companies and research institutions, or as a placement at foreign universities. The Bachelor's degree program includes an application focus from the fields of technology, natural sciences or economics. The Bachelor's thesis and the successful completion of the Bachelor's examination lead to the award of the academic degree Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).
