During studies

If you are already enrolled in the Bachelor's degree program, you will generally not be affected by the changes because your PO (PO2014) will remain in place until 31.03.2028 (1.5 times the standard period of study).

However, please note the following points:

• If you are unable to complete your studies by 31.03.2028, you will be automatically migrated to the new PO(2020) after the deadline and may have to take additional modules (which were not available in the old PO).
• You also have the option of voluntarily switching to the new PO from WS 22/23. To do this, you must submit an informal application to Prof. Dr. Spieth at the Examinations Office of FB07 and request a change to the new PO.
• In addition to the significant reduction of 30 ECTS, some basic modules will be changed and BPS / internship will be deleted.

Our recommendations:
- If you are still in the early stages of your studies (few foundation modules, up to approx. 60 credits), we recommend switching to the new PO.
- If you are well advanced in your studies, i.e. have largely completed the foundation modules and started the specializations, we recommend continuing your studies in the previous form in the old PO. If you have completed 210 credits under the old PO, you can enrol in the old Master's with 90 credits for the last time in winter semester 22/23.
