You do not pay tuition fees at UNSAM.

The costs for travel to and from the university, accomodation, meals, books, insurance, etc. are to be borne by the student.

In addition, you will re-register regularly at the University of Kassel, as you will remain a registered student at your home university during your semester abroad.

The semester periods at UNSAM are from August to December and from March to July. Exchange students take examinations at the end of each semester.

Knowledge of Spanish at B1 level is required.

Not all courses at Bachelor level are offered every semester.

Master's level courses require admission by the respective program coordinator at UNSAM.

UNSAM does not offer accommodation in a student hall of residence. Exchange students must arrange their own accomodation before arrival.

You apply to the International Office of the University of Kassel for a tuition-free exchange study place at UNAM. Please submit the application documents (see below) in person, by post or by email (one PDF with all documents to auslandsstudium[at]uni-kassel[dot]de) in full and on time. Only these applications can be considered in the selection process.

An independent committee will decide on the allocation of the study place. You will be informed of the decision by e-mail.

In the event of a positive decision by the selection committee, the selected applicants must confirm acceptance of the study place within a set deadline. The selected students will then be nominated at the partner university. They will check your documents and decide on the nomination. You will be notified by the university regarding admission and other required documents.

For a stay from August to December or (in the following year) from March to July, please apply by 15.11. with all the documents listed below by e-mail to auslandsstudium[at]uni-kassel[dot]de or hand in the documents in person at our information desk.

It is not sufficient to simply complete the online form; an application must be submitted by e-mail or in printed form.

The following documents are required for a complete application:

• Online application form of the University of Kassel
• Letter of motivation (in German, max. 2 pages, informal)
  Please address the following points in your letter of motivation:
  • Why do you want to study at UNSAM for a semester?
  • Relevance of your stay in relation to your previous/further studies?
  • Which courses would you like to take?
  • Subject/language preparation for the stay
• Curriculum vitae (in German, informal)
• Copy of a valid passport (valid for at least 6 months after the end of the program)
• Proof of Spanish language skills (at least B1)
• Transcript of records with current grade point average (If you are accepted, you will need a transcript of records with the title of the course/event in English, signed and stamped by your examination office. You can use the "Transcript of Records" template, which you can find in our download area).
