Awareness an der Universität

Why awareness is important at the University of Kassel

Awareness means attention and sensitivity to power relations, discrimination and boundary violations. At the University of Kassel, awareness helps to create a respectful, safe and inclusive learning and working space for everyone. It helps to recognize discrimination at an early stage, to take those affected seriously and to take responsibility together.

Awareness is not just a concept, but an attitude: it focuses on mutual consideration, solidarity and the active reduction of inequalities in everyday university life.

Awareness Guides

To support organizers of university events in developing an awareness campaign that aligns with the nature of the event, the university is providing this action-oriented guide. In addition, there is a discussion guide for concrete awareness-raising efforts.

Best Practice Examples

Here are a few examples of awareness campaigns that have been implemented.
