Project "Networking student parents during the corona pandemic"
The project “Networking for studying parents during the coronavirus pandemic” (March 2022 - March 2023) aimed to reduce the impact of the pandemic on families and students with childcare responsibilities. The primary goal was for studying parents to connect. At the University of Kassel, in-person teaching began increasing in the summer semester of 2022 and students with childcare responsibilities faced different challenges than in previous semesters. Accompanied networking meetings were organized, at which information was shared about the wide range of services available, especially counseling options related to balancing studying and childcare responsibilities. The focus was on easing everyday student life, getting to know other students, strengthening the sense of community and sharing fears and concerns. The project, which was carried out in collaboration with the Autonomous Parents' Council of the AStA and the University of Kassel Student Services, resulted in some great offers for regular meetings, which will be continued.
Weekly: Family café in the student union building
Monthly: Family breakfast meeting in the central cafeteria, Holländischer Platz
