Future dialogues: Green utopias or the end of the world - what effect do images of the climate future have in art and science?

Our economy and society must be fundamentally transformed if we do not want to run into catastrophic global warming. But how can we achieve a social
rethink? Do disaster scenarios create motivation or powerlessness? Do utopias show us the way or do they lull us into a false sense of security? Art and theater create new realities and reflect social debates:

What ideas do we have when we talk about the future? How do these visions of the future affect our willingness to change our actions? And what role can - or should - art and theater play in the social negotiation process on the climate crisis? In the fishbowl discussion at the Staatstheater Kassel, artistic and scientific perspectives will meet and voices from the audience, impressions from the Kassel documenta summer as well as findings from current interdisciplinary projects between science, culture and society will find space.
