What does sociology contribute to our understanding of social coexistence?
The lecture series invites you to better understand the mechanisms and dynamics of our complex society. The lectures provide insights into the constitution and transformation of social coexistence along central thematic areas. It provides an overview of the main research areas of the Sociology Department at the University of Kassel and conveys ways of thinking, concepts and methods of sociology. The program shows how versatile the subject is: sociology provides valuable perspectives and practical expertise to understand and help shape the challenges of our time.

The public lecture series will take place in the winter semester 2025/26 on Tuesdays from 12:15 to 13:45 at Campus Holländischer Platz, Diagonale 5, lecture hall 3.
