In theory, we want to save the world, but the reality in front of the organic waste garbage can is often different. The dilemma when going to the garbage can is not so much a lack of knowledge, but rather a misjudgement of our own actions. Konstantin Bachmann from the Department of Resource Management and Waste Technology deals with this mismatch between self-perception and actual separation behavior. He is convinced: "Those who want to separate waste correctly usually do so - the main problem tends to be people who simply don't care about waste separation." His goal: to turn this biowaste into high-quality activated carbon.
