Environmental planning and landscape management

The focus is on concepts and planning strategies for dealing with nature and the landscape. The focus here is equally on ecological aspects (e.g. air/climate, water, soil/rock, plants, animals) and on political/planning concepts (communication, participation, strategies).

Special learning objectives:

• Application of scientific, planning and legal standards, both on the basis of existing data and with the help of own surveys as part of the planning process
• Development of creative ideas based on critical discussion and the further development of standards.

The core of the Master's specialization in Environmental Planning and Landscape Management (ULM) is environmental and landscape planning and the implementation of landscape-related objectives. This requires ecological and planning-legal knowledge, but also in-depth knowledge in dealing with conflicts, developing participation and implementation concepts and communicating planning content. Modern digital analysis and planning tools such as geographic information systems are also important.
