Studying without a high school diploma
We learn not only at school, but also in life, at work and in further vocational training. It is therefore logical to also enable people to study who do not have an Abitur or Fachhochschulreife, but who have sufficient skills to successfully complete a course of study due to qualifications gained outside of a general school.
In Hesse, there are three routes to university for vocationally qualified people without an Abitur:
- University admission on the basis of a master craftsman examination or equivalent advanced training
- University admission on the basis of completed vocational training with several years of professional experience
- University admission with a secondary school leaving certificate and qualified training qualification
