Financing Your Studies

The University of Kassel generally does not charge tuition fees. However, a semester fee is required. In addition, there are living expenses incurred during your studies. A range of financial aid options is available to help cover these costs.

General information on financing your studies can be found here. You can also take advantage of the counseling services offered by the Student Finance Advisor of the Studierendenwerke to obtain further information on financing your studies.

You should also check whether you are eligible for funding through the following programs and take note of the relevant application procedures:

Under certain conditions, students enrolled in the DSH course, the Studienkolleg, and the subsequent degree program at the University of Kassel may be eligible for financial aid under the Federal Students Assistance Act (BAföG). The staff at the Studierendenwerk Kassel are happy to provide you with advice.

Prospective students who are still in the asylum process can apply to the relevant agency (e.g., the social welfare office) to continue receiving asylum seeker benefits before starting their studies.
