Counselling and support

As an equal opportunities officer, you are the first point of contact for anyone who experiences discrimination or disadvantage. Through confidential discussions and targeted counselling, you help those affected to clarify their concerns and find ways to resolve them.
Inform yourself about the services and opportunities available at the University of Kassel so that you can offer competent advice.

Public relations and networking

With campaigns, presentations and network meetings, you can make equality visible and connect different parties. For example, you can use the regular women's plenary sessions organised in your department for this purpose. This will strengthen dialogue and cooperation within the department.

Strategy development and monitoring

You will work on structural plans in the area of equal opportunities and implement measures to ensure equal opportunities. The university-wide and department-specific data from the equality monitoring programme can assist you in this process.
In order to be able to implement corresponding projects, it is also possible to apply to the special fund ‘Structural Equal Opportunities’.

Qualification and networking

Take advantage of opportunities to further your own qualifications in order to expand your gender equality expertise and broaden your scope of action.
By networking within your department and beyond, you can exchange ideas on gender equality issues that affect you and others. This also enables mutual learning.
