The Center of Excellence for Gender Studies in Transformation (GETRA) provides a space for academic exchange, networking, and the development of interdisciplinary research projects. It is open to anyone engaged in gender studies, including undergraduate students, doctoral candidates, and postdocs, provided their work encompasses interdisciplinary, intersectional, and international aspects of gender studies.
Targeted support for doctoral candidates and postdocs is planned within the framework of the Center of Excellence. This support complements the existing structures at the University of Kassel and includes offerings such as writing workshops, teaching training, presentation and moderation techniques, and time management. In addition, specific programs to support graduate students in gender studies will be developed in cooperation with the Graduate Academy.
The Center of Excellence also promotes internationalization and supports students, doctoral candidates, and postdocs during stays abroad as well as in applying for funding for international conferences. They are integrated into the University of Kassel’s international networks.
