Prof. Anne Otto

On April 1, Dr. Anne Otto took up the special professorship for university and labour market research, which is based at the Faculty of Economics and the INCHER Institute. She is also a research associate at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), where she has been working in the Regional Research Network in Saarbrücken since 2005. After studying economic geography at the LMU Munich, she worked there until 1999, from 1999-2003 in the research group City and Region at the University of Bonn and from 2004-2005 at the Institute for Development Planning and Structural Research at the University of Hanover. In 2022 she habilitated on the topic "An exploration of industrial agglomeration, regional trajectories and regional inter-industry labor flows in Germany" at Leibniz University Hannover.

She is currently working at the INCHER Institute together with the group of Prof. Dr. Guido Bünstorf on the DFG project "International mobility as strategy and outcome in national excellence competition". In her research, Anne Otto focuses on the career paths and decisions of doctoral candidates and doctoral graduates within and outside the university and science system. She also works on the transformation of regional labor markets and the spatial mobility of workers in Germany.
